Clark Bailey is a family business. When Troy and Kelley first met, they were both working individually in their respective fields. Troy was primarily shooting fashion and lifestyle and Kelley was establishing herself as the go to makeup artist for weddings and fashion. They were introduced to each other by a mutual friend and the rest as they say was history.
People often ask about the origin of the name “Clark Bailey”. Well, it’s pretty simple… while on their honeymoon, they started going over names for their future children and settle on Clark and Bailey. The business was named in honor of them and years later, Clark and Logan Bailey, still watch their parents do what they love to do.
Principal Photographer
Troy Woods, a Washington DC native, is the lead photographer for Clark Bailey and has over 20 years of experience as a professional photographer. He began his career in information technology while also working with his photography clients during his available times. In 2014, he became a full time photographer.
Working on the “big stage” is what he refers to as his place of comfort as he has captured amazing photographs of world renowned recording artists such as Katy Perry, Usher, Mary J Blige, the Far East Movement, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Israel Haughton, Mary Mary and many many more. He has had the privilege to photograph prestigious events such as the Presidential Inaugural Ball, the Pan African Leadership Dinner and other high profile events throughout Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles. When not photographing events, he works with entrepreneurs, C Suite executives and other professionals to improve their personal brands.
Principal Makeup Artist
Kelley Woods, one of Washington DC’s top Makeup Artist is a Beauty & Bridal Expert, and Educator, who’s purpose has been to educate, enhance one’s beauty through her artistry, training’s, and makeup classes. Inspired by the world of beauty she has built her career as a freelance makeup artist, and has trained and worked for some of the most prestigious cosmetic companies. As former Beauty Editor she studied products and development, which is a key factor in her in depth beauty and product knowledge.
Even though many of her clients are just the ‘everyday woman’, she has beautified several hundred Brides (she lovesss Weddings!), Politicians, and worked Red Carpet events; including several TV shows and press events, with media likes such as Red Table Talk, Today Show w/ Hoda and Jenna, The View, CNN, BET, Dr. OZ FOX and NBC and Today Show.
Assistant
Clark is our on location assistant helping us setup and breakdown our on location sets. He is also responsible for capturing our behind the scenes media content. It’s no surprise that he has taken an interest into content creation but he is beginning to play a critical role in our media presence.
